ABOUT THE OWNER

Carlo Vona Jr., a son of Italian immigrants, was born in Norwalk, Connecticut in the 1970s. He is a 3rd generation mason and construction runs deep within his veins. Even as a child, he enjoyed building wood structures, stone walls, and landscape designs. He spent most summers working with his father on job sites. Although a lot of this time was spent “playing,” he absorbed his family’s work ethic and people skills as well as acquired and developed his business technique.

Carlo is extremely mechanical, and primarily a self taught machine operator and designer. He went to school at King School in Stamford, Connecticut and Woodhall Boarding School in Bethlehem Connecticut, then went on to attended Pace University and Norwalk Community College. He also spent time abroad traveling Europe, marveling at the architecture of the historical buildings.

In 2009 he was asked to take over the Paramount Stone yard in the peak of the recession. He stuck it out and prevailed. Paramount Stone Company had been reduced to 10 percent income in 2008 with Carlo’s ingenuity and leadership as President, it rebounded 30 percent every year.

Carlo has revived the company’s fabrication and supply divisions as well as increased importing. In addition, he started several new divisions, including Thinstone, restoration and maintenance.

Always staying on top of trends and technology, Carlo has worked on corporate branding and marketing initiatives through comprehensive printed collateral, websites, phone apps, and a strong social media presence.
